I recently heard the story of an NS2 ENSL gather player being kicked and banned for hacking in a gather.
i heard about this through a reddit comment in r/ns2. after asking about it, i discovered there was a video on youtube, but this video was not public.
what do you guys think of this approach? I would rather all bans from ENSL were announced publicly and any evidence used to support said bans be made public. what do you guys think?
You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.
my point entirely :P ah, it works without the dot. didnt know about that thanks - funnily enough though , the player in question is banned for 5years for some steamid issue... no mention of the hackusation... seriously? this is what i mean...
How many communities lay their entire Banlist open?
How many communities give you the chance to see their reasoning behind their decisions?
Lets me give you a hint: NONE !
ENSL is very open with the Information about pretty much everything .. i mean pretty much everything they intend to change or do is at some time discussed in the forums so the community is not left out and the admins are not just bulldozing over everyone.
And yes i agree that that particular ban might not have been handled very well because it says second account fake steam id in the ban.
But there is some other stuff about this ban that makes things .. well complicated!
yes i clicked that. he is indeed in the list of banned players, but for playing with wrong steamid. he was banned for a supposed wallhack - one of the ENSL staff has a video of it. im just suggesting such stuff be more transparent. the video was pretty convincing but not 100% damning - all the more reason to post it imo.
BluPickle (recorded that video) and I watched the game live. He is cheating for sure, but he was banned for fake steamid. He had chance to defend himself.
if he was cheating, why not ban him for cheating rather than stating the steam id as the reason? and why not publish the fucking evidence? i had to go around asking for it. does evrything happen behind closed doors in this game?
We're used to being an extremely small community where word travels almost immediately to almost everybody, but I'm not sure it's as shady as you think.
If the player wants to contest his ban he can - on the forums. He hasn't posted on the forums which makes me all the more suspicious. That video is dogshit though, I wouldn't say it's brilliant evidence.
It's absolutely clear in the rules that you must have a valid steamID. If he doesn't then it is within the rights of the admins to ban him. The assertion that he was banned for cheating was made by you as a result of third hand information.
indeed.
he is banned for using a wrong steamid because i can easily find evidence for this. WH is very hard to see with both the current spectator system and the poor quality of the video. so we choose to be on the safe side and ban him for the wrong id/second account (maybe).
The video really has a low quality. Pls next time do a demo and upload it so i could use it offline to rewatch it and scan it with the wh. The Problem that the game had a bad replay system is true but you could easily see a wh if you have brain and experience. For me the video from tox definitly a wh. But u can't 100 % definitly say it, cause you cant work with that to show the truth. Think about the strange situations and you will imagine that its a little bit to "pro" to be fair against the heavy high skilled gamer (not me indeed ;D)
I think all of you know about the public wh that started release in public from november till now thats undetected and easy to use (old and easy mechanic). And many guys use or had used it for sure. I have 2 or more demos that can easily show some guys cheating with the wh. But to show it it could easile make a great "OMFG" so i don't will make it pubic. Now. Maybe in the future yeah to show: thats you friend ;D
But UWE don't interesst about the cheating "scene" (there are Aimbots for cash outside and its really "easy" to code if you have a "little" experience) and the community want to do it for now (like NS2bans.com).
Well. Yes I could do this video in a better quality, or maybe do a demo. But at the beginning, I did this video to show to gamerkatze, and not to show to the ENSL/Youtube community (that's why the video is on private). And from what I see, as an admin, with all the proofs of a suspicious guy, and after that a clear and true wallhack, I decided to talk to Gamerkatze, and after, ban him.
The fact is we are here as admins, to give you the best entertaining contest and game we can give on a community. If we've judge him as a cheater and a liar, that's because he is.
The video has been posted on youtube to give a quick preview to gamerkatze when I show him cheating, not to make a gossip.
And even if he's not cheating/lying/whatever, there is a ban appeal section where he can post his issue with a second account. You aren't concerned about that.
