...what would it be?
Try to be serious, I'll be going to meet UWE on 18th Aug in Cologne on the Gamescom and I want to sum up questions from the competitive scene I could ask. Spread the word around other competitive gamers with brains, please. (Pure trolls not needed this time, even when I love them)

You could ask him how long it will take him to actually realize that he should implement the movement part of NS1 into NS2 .. and then KICK HIM REAL HARD !
How do they plan to balance such a diverse game in such a small period of time? Puzl and other ex-devs were the driving force of most of the big balances during NS1 and it still took 3 years. How without their presence do you think you'll accomplish this?
It appears you have focused on the CoD market when reviewing some of the mechanics for NS2. Why have you avoided the diverse array of movement options available from NS1, something that made it fun. In a game of aliens and marines and hyperspace, alot of the movement seems very viable (such as bunnyhopping on aliens)?
Do you honestly think that you can make the game playable for the mass market by release date? At the moment the game can't get above 30fps on most pcs.
Do you feel that you've missed some of the main elements from NS1 such as the player vs player, melee vs range combat aspect, and instead created a game revolving around too much AI spam?
I could talk to him for days in honesty. I think you should try contacting veritas from the US team. He had alot of good points about NS2.

So in short:
Why make a sequel to a game and dismiss EVERYTHING that made the game so great in the first place ? °!

Ambushing him with any of the dumb shit posted in this thread so far sounds like a really bad plan.
If you do get a chance to talk to him, you should probably just say something like "Hey man, long time NS1 player here. Great job making NS2 happen. I've been wondering if you plan to improve marine/alien movement though -- it was one of the things that really drew me to NS1 and the movement in NS2 doesn't give me the same kick unfortunately.".

You should mention the vidoecasts you made on youtube, I remember devs watching them. It'll make you stand you out a bit from the other fat noobz. There's a million things you could talk about but honestly though, I don't think you can change his mind much. But yeah, don't come across as a bitter competitive player.

Yeah, I also don't intend to come across as a bitter competitive player. More as a competitive player who turned over to play NS2 now, enjoying it but pointing what personally felt more fun in NS1 competitive.
So far I definetaly have movements on my list and if NS2 might gain "a bit more speed". Performance I don't need to yell at since they know themselves they didn't reach their goals yet. Symmetric res model will stay of course, as it has up- as downsides and I'm fine with it. As will everything which would need drastic changes. I'm realistic and I want NS2 to be a success and would even enjoy playing leagues in the current state of it.
So I am looking more for potential requests who have a chance to still be discussed and eventually even being looked at, remember that time is running out heavily for UWE.

See .. i wanna say something hear rael bad .. but then again all i will do is REPEAT MYSELF!
THERE IS JUST ONE GOOD QUESTION:
DO YOU INTEND TO MAYBE THINK ABOUT ADDING SOME KIND OF MOVEMENT ELEMENT TO THE GAME AGAIN TO SPICE UP THE LEARNING CURVE OF THE GAME A BIT??
Oh yeah and this time i tried to say it kind of nice and nearly polite .. so you dont have to think about how to best adress it! I really think if you just use that exact question he wont be offended .. unless he is even dumber than i think he is!
Maybe my questions are a little bitter or come across sore, but I don't think they are dumb shit. They point out the big inherent difference between the sequel and the original which make it worse. I honestly think it's kind of atrocious how bad the game runs considering the graphics aren't even that amazing.

PAX east was in my city so i went and talked to him. He kind of tried to keep the conversation away from NS2 gameplay mechanics after i mentioned i play ns1 competitively. I didn't even bring it up but he said he liked bunnyhopping but the other devs didn't want it in, but I don't think I buy that. I kinda just said to make air control better for skill in combat and that the wall hopping system was more convoluted than bhopping because of the arbitrary timing. He was surprised to heard ensl still did gathers. I had lost any hope of the game being good long before this so I didn't really care to ask him about NS2 mechanics that much (would help if i could run it) and he didn't really seem interested in hearing an opinion on it other than blind joy (surprise). None of the devs were optimistic about optimization.
oh and WTS pax ingame icon keys
