They've actually increased the learning curve now, I feel.
Bunnyhop replaced with jumping off walls to gain speed. So the marines will know where you need to go to gain speed, making you an easier target. To boost with that, there's lots of clutter on the walls, making it more difficult to to get your spot and speed around. Thirdly, your speed then decreases as you go a long indefinitely from what I see, so you're forced to go back to a wall at some point making you an easy target again.
That's just one example. I can't really comment any more because I can't actually get in game for more than 5 seconds, my marines never spawn and my aliens never move, I just disconnect. LAN works perfectly some how.
Season 1 flashbacks... gutted. On that note, ns_lost + random hive system was the worst fucking slotmachine ever. If you were marines the aliens were guaranteed equilibrium and your base was rushed to death, if you were aliens you were guaranteed alpha and you were allowed no res nodes. fuck that map forever.
I've gotta say I just don't really give a shit any more if NS2 is like NS1.

they changed how hives work so now you can get second and third hive abilities on one hive
they added a 20 second "wave spawn", so now aliens spawn in waves every 20 seconds
theyre changing medpacks and ammo to be dropped from armory energy
they added a delay to fade swipe, so you cant attack for like half a second after exiting "blink mode" (and fades are still op, just really frustrating to play)
the gorge doesnt use res to build shit anymore
flayra stated latency doesnt have any effect on playing the game
playtesters are getting kicked from pt for inquiring whether or not flayra actually plays his own game at all

The playtester in question (was only one) was removed because he violated his NDA, was disruptive during playtests and regularly insulted the Developers & other playtesters. I'm pretty sure if Jiriki was in charge he would fired him as well.
We all question the devs about everything, every day. We're pushing the game to be as good as we can make it. I only fire PTs who cross the line, I gave him every opportunity to take it up privately. He declined.
We're testing some things to see if they work. If they don't, they will be reverted or fixed. Simple as that really.
