Newcomer's Update!
A quick update on Newcomers Tournament signups! We’ve been pleasantly surprised with the turnout, which is around sixty people now. Due to the number of signups and the closing fast date of the tournament, we will be closing the signups for draft players in the next 2 days!
The tournament will still take place this weekend, at 12PM EST or 4PM/1600 UTC (High Noon) on June 18th and possibly June 19th for overflow games! Coaches must be there at least ten minutes early! We will be utilizing the ENSL Teamspeak for this gathering of man-creatures which is available here.
We will continue signups for draft coaches, following the closure of the draft player signups. We could always use more coaches!
Rules of the games played on this coming Saturday will be supplied based on those who show up.
REMEMBER: Gathers are still available! Idle, and see who joins! Also, that Warcraft movie was garbage AF. Go see it. Also, Tico is a hack fraud.

Coaching should start 1 week before the Tournament and not 10 min before it starts.

And that 10 mins is just so i can explain what the coaches will be doing and what will be expected. For what i have planned it will be enough to help the people learn.

I personally dislike this idea since coaches will subconsciously give hints to their team according to the other teams position and play... I think coaches should only be able to talk with their team during rounds on feedback and what to look out for.
The risk of ghosting is too high imo.

And especial in an "Tournament" format this kind of "live coaching" is kinda strange.
I would prefer a time window of lets say 2 hrs before before tornament start, where coaches can give a quick summary on important tasks and some basic training.
And feedback between the rounds.

When we first talked, i hadnt thought in depth what the coaches should be doing,because that was still early on in the planning process. But now that ive made up my mind, your idea is what i want to do.
And depara id already planned on giving the coaches time with their team before the matches to discuss all that stuff. How long exactly im not sure yet because it definitely matters on how many show.

Even though it was rather disappointing, those that participated ( including myself) had fun and I think its important that we don't give up on these sorts of community events. Its going to be a bit of a struggle to revitalize the NS2 community but I believe we can do it! :)

I mean, if I could continue leaving bad reviews for this game daily, I would. But yeah, I'm done whining, and I'm done playing the game. But still I'm curious to see how long this "competitive scene" will flop around like a fish out of water and that's probably why everyone else is here too (except the delusional ones who think comp. ns2 will survive).
Then again, I'm not one of the vindictive ones who desperately want to see NS2 die all together, I just want my favorite game to be fun again.

working on it. it's not salient right now to release a gather system since the game is kinda new. people will be scrimming a LOT since teams are exploding and reforming constantly. also there's a million people looking for scrims so it's unrealistic people would stick around to play a gather when they could just get 5 of their good buddies and play another team
