Season changes
First things first for people who don't read walls of text:
Week 7 will not hold ns2_caged, instead ns2_nsl_veil will be played!
Now the actual changes about the NSL.
Swalk decided to leave his current position as League Admin. After his team duplex died shortly after their 2-year anniversary, he felt more and more less committed to the scene. So after still keeping working on the NSL for you, he finally decided to let go before the end of the Season.
Even if not everyone was always agreeing with his decision making regarding the NSL, I have to say, doing this is not an easy job. Whatever you do, there are always people complaining. You need a thick skin and keep common sense. And most of all, be constantly around, talking with people, doing busy-bee work (Putting up matches, news posts, schedule sheets and so on) and keep looking for the greater good of NS2 competitive scene. He was undoubtly a great asset to the scene and did probably more work for this community than many people can imagine. I am sad to see you go, swalk, and I wish you best luck for your future endeavours!
To fill in this big empty slot, Zefram, who is also known for his great committment and work for the NSL since Season 2, steps in as new NSL League Admin. I know I can trust him my wife - if I'd had one. People like Zefram (and of course all the referees out there! Yaluzan, Super Sars, Argosh, ...just to name a few) are priceless for the community. Big kudos for keeping up the work, especially in all the times when you are needed most!

Almost forgot! Also, a few weeks ago Gamerkatze retired from handling the NSL Servers which are hosted by Multiplay (and paid by UWE). Simba is now in charge as new NSL Tech Admin of the servers. I really need to thank Garmerkatze for all his work keeping them running smooth with current mods, profiles and managing referee rights, he did a great job. And I am sure Simba will as well :)

What happens with the other week (was it w3?) with caged if we haven't played it yet? Do we still play caged?

Zefram
Since most teams have already played their week 3 matches on caged, let's say any make up of week 3 matches will still be played on caged, but week 7 ones will be played on veil.

WOOOOOO ZEFRAM! I guess this means I don't need to plan a mutiny anymore.
Thanks for all your hard work, Swalk!

Swalk was one of the best administrators when it comes to feedback.
I know of multiple occasions when I would ask swalk for clarification on a couple of things, he explained and then actually went on to ask how he could make things better for us and was never shy to ask for help with regards to seedings or rule rewording.
Thanks for the games and effort you put into the community, buddy!
Welcome Zefram, a stalwart choice, and the obvious choice. Best of luck!

Sad day to see Swalk leave his position as NSL admin.
Even so a lot of people complained about his actions (maps, rules, seeding’s) he did the job. Like Wob said, he was fulltime online in regards of question about the league, matches, seedings and rules.
His time he offered for the NSL even made duplex rooster change many times, but he kept working on the NSL for the community. The NS2 community and the league always had the highest priority for Swalk and I think zefram got large shoes to step in. To make the job as half as good as Swalk did it.
I think we are losing one of the greatest people/player the NS2 competitive scene had in the past two years. Even so not everything worked perfectly and as planned, he had a dedication for that game no one else had and offered more time for the game than anybody else. (myb mendasp comes close to it)

Too bad to hear! But we are lucky that atleast someone had the guts to step up and fill the big shoes!
Thanks for the time Swalkyboy and Gamerkatze
And best luck in the future for Zefram and Simba!

What did duplex's rooster change into?
Thanks swalk for all the time you spent organising seasons and tournaments etc.
Also to Gamerkatze for ensuring we could use the servers pretty quickly after a new patch.

I doubt we will ever have anyone as dedicated and motivated as Swalk to helping NS2 at the competitive level. This is a great loss to the community and we can only hope it doesn't get worse because of it.

Thanks for the hard work swalk. No doubt that zefram will do a good job as well. He's a dedicated and motivated person that will look out for the best interests of the ns2 community. Despite all the banter that occurs between us I'm confident he will do an exceptional, fair and unbiased job.
