Gather FPS Issue
Hello my "SO OLD" Community!
As you may have noticed we had a poll not to long ago !
The result of that lovely poll tells us that most ppl do not like to play with more than 125 fps in gathers !
So atm we are working to change our beloved ensl plugin on the servers to restrict more than 125 fps permanently !
Until then the restrictions will be enforced manually by any of the attending admins!
For now most Admins will ask the actual players of the gathers before putting the restriction in place manually !
But in any situation what so ever you should always type /check just to make sure you dont get kicked 8) !
Greetings EisTee.at !
P.S.: When the Plugin is modified we will give you further notice.

Stop bhopping you exploiter.
It has nothing to do with unusual. Playing NS2 lerk is nothing "unusual", its just boring. That's a subjective value judgement.

Most people can actually have 200fps now, wich is the reason it actually gets banned.
@Tweadle: Jriki told me he would look into a mod/plugin change that only disables it for the jetpack alone.
That would leave the firerate intact for hmgs/lmgs.
I dunno, i´ve just gone back to 111fps - dont care too much.

So aslong as you change fps after checking you are fine 8) !

(That'd require plugin change but I'm asking for your reasoning.)

The thing on able i dont recall seeing a msg telling that 200 fps is forbidden on the server so your leverage for punishment is not very big is it?

the rulez say dont cheat with game advantages .. and 200 fps is one if this so stop approving this shit "admin eistee "
29 June 2011, 19:37
jiriki | old people
And saying that 200fps is cheating is false dichotomy, because even 111FPS gives you better dmg than 100FPS but its not banned. There's no way to draw a distinct line and say that here's cheating and heres not without making a subjective evaluation. It is not more useful than saying "scripting is cheating". Yes pistol script gives advantage over those who don't use it, and removes the very small skill of learning how to shoot fast but competitive have accepted that as an acceptable part of the game.
Saying 200FPS is cheating is like saying carbon tax is tyranny. It just tells how simple-minded people see things, without capability of abstract thinking.
"the players will start tricksing..."
No they don't if the plugin is taking care of that. As far as I know 200FPS gives you no game-advantage on aliens, but it decreases screen tearing.

We wanted to know the opinion and we reacted according to it. So the poll and the following actions are not even close to being discussed !
And i am sure u use a pistol makro which requires an extra little "programm" installed so that it works? .. so i d say that is much more cheating than just changing ingamevalues ! do your homework ! .. and no i am not FOR 200 FPS !

One could say whatever, fact is you dont play any other game in developer mode unless you are actually mapping or doing something else than actually playing the game.
However, since LCDs were introduced, 100fps has been nothing but pain for users - causing massive tearing. 111fps and 125fps helps out _alot_ for these users (200fps is smoother, yes), and since they are a majority of this community, banning developer 1 will not happen.
We need to find a balance and try to please as many as possible basicly.
