More Week 3 Predictions
The more astute amongst you will have noticed that my timekeeping has been getting worse as the weeks progress. A recent study has also shown that the Irish Salmon population is in a steady decline and is currently at its lowest level since the Great Winter of 1949.
Admirable’s Division 1 Predictions
On further analysis these two data sets show a clear correlation pointing to an indisputable truth: Shut the fuck up, you cunts!
Insane vs Fold
This is a real battle of the underachievers. There is plenty of potential within these two teams, but both seem to be lacking that certain je ne sais quoi that makes everything click.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. Last week, despite my prediction, I actually thought Insane would lose 0 – 4 to LOLSTEAMROLL; sometimes I like to give teams a fighting chance. Well no more! The defeat confirmed for me that there is much work to be done to see Insane return to form. However, I have detected the pungent aroma of Camembert on European NS servers; everywhere I go I see Insane players! They definitely appear to be making an effort to polish up their rusty skills and I have noticed good improvement from the likes of FlashNaabZ, RioS and eagleeye. I expect to see better team performances as the previously semi-inactive players regain their skills and confidence. Keep an eye on this team!
Last week saw another dubious performance from those grumpy old bastards, Team Fold. On the plus side it was perhaps the most active week they’ve had since operations commenced about a month ago. Realising that Boss Pizza is infact a lazy fuck, Admirable had to get the ball rolling and has been nagging everyone to play and recruiting new members. The addition of veteran players Ots and SlayerX will be a shot in the arm for activity levels, although there is still some doubt whether Ots will pass the physical exam (yes, it’s a fat joke). And with Oetel and sherpa also returning from the murky depths of real life there is life in Fold yet, although I’m doubtful as to if they can produce the goods just yet.
Impact players:
Insane : eagleeye (Fade), RioS (Skulk), FlashNaabZ (Marine)
meh! : Naxu (Marine), zharp (Gorge), sherpa (Comm)
Insane 2 - 2 Fold
Adz’ Final Thought: This is anyone’s game but more than likely no-one’s!
Los Negros vs The Sproggalots
This has the makings of a decent game. With Los Negros showing some promise and The Sproggalots producing some unconvincing results recently, it’s all to play for.
The Finspan Kraut-Frogs pulled a victory out of the bag last week against a passive looking Team Fold, and although it wasn’t an amazing game, it was one that they deserved to win. I thought GuiZ played a smart Marine Round on Tanith and always seemed to be in the right place whether defending nodes or just good old fashioned killin’ shit. Los Negros are getting in a fair few games and things are starting to come together for them, with Vartija becoming a formidable Fade and C-mies improving in the Comm Chair. Combine this with quality players like Aleksi, doogie and NyCeR and I think The Sproggalots will have a game on their hands. Oh and some guy called bp joined!
I haven’t seen that real spark I saw with The Sproggalots last season. I would go as far as to say they are stuck in a rut, but I definitely think they can do better. Their Alien Round is as strong as ever with a diverse set of tactics and setups that are always under scrutiny and being improved upon and a strong selection of life forms. Currently I would only see Flatline-Ns or LOLSTEAMROLL as capable of turning them over as Kharaa. They are underperforming in Marine Rounds and I can’t quite put my finger on it. There always seems to be several small avoidable mistakes which create an opening for good opponents to capitalise, as Flatline-Ns almost did last week on Eclipse. They have this game won, but the margin depends on who is firing blanks come game time.
Impact players:
is white : Vartija (Fade), GuiZ (Marine), Aleksi (All rounder)
sprogga ~ : GibbZ (Form!), enigmatic (Marine), GreeN (Skulk\Fade)
Los Negros 1 - 3 The Sproggalots
Adz’ Final Thought: Los Negros can take a round here if they have the constitution.
Team Russia vs LOL STEAMROLL
With the Russians currently in last place and the Finns at number one, you could be forgiven for not expecting much here. Let’s investigate…
I haven’t seen much from the Russkies recently and it’s not down to their activity, rather mine. So I assume it is business as usual; still beating lower division teams but struggling against Division 1 opponents. I still maintain that they have a solid Alien Round, with a big emphasis on eating RTs and tanking the shit out of everyone in sight. This has often caught teams off guard. When it comes to the Marine Rounds they can quite often start well with good pressure and will dominate the nodes of sloppy teams, but they tend to lack direction and res control in the mid to late game. If the Finns slip up Team Russia are very capable of punishing them.
Last week saw Finland’s LOLSTEAMROLL demolish Insane to take five points and pole position in the race for the illustrious ENSL title. This week I expect much the same. I said it last week and I’ll say it again, Tane is hot right now! Although it’s not all about the beret-wearing-badass. Whilst the Marine Rounds have been headed up by the Tane\NsN death squad, Citrus has been throwing some crazy shapes as Fade. In my mind he’s probably the most experienced DC Fade around and he’s a real asset to the sometimes ropey Alien Round. There seems to be a bit of a habit of Skulks going kamikaze in the early game when grouping up might be the safer option. However, it seemed to work against the French and no doubt will be enough to defeat the Russians.
Impact players:
.ru : sMille (Fade), Macpersil (Marine\Lerk), Sone (Tank You Very Much)
?LOLSTEAMROLL? : Tane (Marine), Citrus (Fade), Kuitmo (Skulk)
Team Russia 0 - 4 LOL STEAMROLL
Adz’ Final Thought: Bring the gaymen!
That’s all until next week… gad damnit that’s in four hours :(
I quit!
